How to use it

Copywork, the unhurried way

Copywork is not handwriting drill with a Bible verse on top. The point is that a child sits with good words long enough to notice how they are built.

Read the verse aloud together before a pencil is picked up. Once is enough.
Trace the copy line without hurrying. Attention is the point, and a short lesson done well beats a long one endured.
Copy it underneath on the ruled guide lines. If a younger child runs out of steam halfway, stop there and finish tomorrow.
Talk about one thing in it for a minute or two. What does the firmament mean? What does it look like to be tenderhearted to a brother?
Take the nature page outside on a different day. Drawing and narrating what you actually saw is doing the same work in a different key.

Best fit is roughly ages five to nine for the manuscript pages. An older child who is ready for cursive can work the same way through the Proverbs Copywork set.

Yes, and it is in the same download. One version is full color, the other is single color with no shading and no heavy backgrounds. Both are included, so you can try the color pages once and print the ink-friendly set for daily use.

Will it fit my paper?

One download, four files: full color and ink-friendly, each in US Letter and A4. Print at 100 percent rather than fit to page, or the ruled guide lines will not match a child's normal handwriting size.

Which translation is it?

KJV, and every reference is checked against the text before it ships. The paid sets note a modern alternate where it is useful.

What ages is this for?

The manuscript copywork pages suit roughly ages five to nine. The nature study page works well past that, and an older child can use it as a narration prompt instead of a drawing prompt.

Can I use it with more than one child?

Yes. Print it as many times as you need for the children in your own home, and pass it on to a friend who would like it too.
